Now What?

You may be thinking to yourself, “well, I’ve invited Jesus into my heart, now what do I do?”  As I mentioned before, share the Good News!  Like minded people love to rejoice when someone becomes a babe in Christ.  Jesus said in Luke 15:7,10 “I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth”… and in verse 10 he said “Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth.”  Isn’t it wonderful to know that when you give your heart to the Lord that even the angels in heaven are rejoicing over you!

Just like a newborn baby, you are not meant to go it alone.  You need to be fed just like a baby, you need milk, not meat at this time in your life.  You need to pray. How, you may ask.  Well, prayer is just like talking to your best friend.  We tell our best friend the good and the bad and so it is when talking to God. Tell Him everything!

You also need to read the Word of God. If you don’t have a Bible, then buy one.  If you can’t buy one then mention it to the pastor of a church and I’m sure someone will make sure that you get one.  My personal recommendation is to start reading the New Testament first, then the Old Testament. (I prefer the King James Version)

You must find a church.  In Hebrews 10:25 it states “not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together”.  You will need to find a church that preaches the “Word”.  Verify what the minister and teachers say with what the Bible says.  During the next year or so you will be growing and getting stronger as you listen to the teacher teach and hearing the Word of God preached. You will gain strength by having fellowship with other believers.

You need to keep the trash out! The Lord has taken the taken the trash out of your life, so don’t let it back in.  Some of the ways to accomplish this is by reading your Bible daily, listening to some good Christian music, and censoring what you watch. You will be amazed at what doing some of these things will do for your spiritual growth.

Throughout your journey, remember that you are loved and are expected to bring forth fruit.  John chapter 15:16, 17 Jesus says, “Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever you shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.  These things I command you, that ye love one another”

May the Lord bless you as you Go and Grow.
